I have 2 cows, both born April 2020. One is a Red Angus Seminole (Pepper) and the other Red Angus Longhorn (Annie). Yes, they have names and they know their names. Annie was orphaned shortly after birth. Her mother was a longhorn and was found dead a couple weeks after. Pepper's mother, Seminole, took her as her own. They have never been separated, ever, and I won't separate them now. They have never been bred and never feed grain. They are somewhat friendly, sometimes you can rub their ears if they're busy smelling your boots but they are skiddish. They will come for treats like squash, apples and especially pumpkins. I've never used prods or other devices on them.
