In 1893, Appleton Publishing produced a 30 part series on art, to be released at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. It was originally compiled in an effort to expose the general public to the works of the great masters, as well as more contemporary artists of the time. These thirty individual parts each contained two color typogravures and two black & white photogravures.
Today I offer one of those 125-year-old Typogravures. The framing is contempory, however the litho is an original from Part XIX, detailed on page 125 of the series. It was originally presented with a light paper matt, as my photo will show. The title of the piece is “June Roses” by Albert Aublet. This color typogravure is very clean with little or no foxing or stains. The overall frame measures about 19 ½” x 23 1/3” in size. It is framed with anti glare glass.
We have many many of the original Parts from the series, containing dozens of color typogravures and black & white photogravures. So if there was an artist, or a particular theme you were looking for, let me know.
I travel from Royalton to Becker a few times a week, and could meet serious buyers along the way. If interested give me a call, or drop me an e-mail. Please – no texting. Also, shipping and Pay Pal are an option.
I would consider trades toward old western type prints & lithographs. Thanks for looking, and be safe.
